Laboratory of traditional dances


The laboratory practical and theoretical dance is divided into a series of meetings on the study of traditions and musical etnocoreutiche of central and southern Italy. The goal is to create moments of meeting, fun and socializing, but also the possibility of knowledge outside the region of those places where the tradition of sound and dance is still alive.
Teaching is entrusted to the usual canons of oral transmission and that is the look and repeat.
The project will develop from November 2010 to May 2011 with weekly meetings of traditional dances of central and southern Italy, seminars, video projections and concerts

Lessons include a meeting a week lasting 90 min used

This year the project Kordax, reached its ninth edition, offers a discussion of Fora Primu u (U sonu to ballu), typical of the dance that is danced in Reggio a wheel (circle of musicians, dancers and spectators waiting for the right round dance). The style is that of the proposed Valley Sant'Agata is situated in the southern Aspromonte greek.


The appointments will be every two weeks (one Sunday and one not)
from 18.00 to 20.30, for a total of 14 practical and theoretical lessons, starting Sunday, November 7, 2010. Information and reservations

The laboratory practical / theoretical folk dance is divided into a series of meetings on the study of traditions and musical etnocoreutiche of central and southern Italy. The goal is to create moments of meeting, fun and socializing, but also the possibility of a broader knowledge of those places where the tradition of sound and dance is still alive. Teaching is entrusted to the usual canons of oral transmission and that is the look and repeat. This project will be developed from September 2009 to June 2010 with a week of dance workshops and tools and insights and concerts in one weekend per month. The moments of depth and concerts will be entrusted to musicians, singers and dancers belonging to the popular culture of the region "examined".
